Solutions for Health & Human Services Industry
Unissant has been supporting our nation’s health, biomedical, and bio-information needs for over four (4) years. Our solutions within our Health Services practice areas include:
Unissant has years of demonstrated success in managing complex programs and projects across different development and production support environments within the public and private sectors. The technical and management capabilities that we deliver were developed through our experience in a variety of IT Services programs spanning a wide range of IT functions directly related to client needs. A primary key to our success has been our attention to the intricate details of Project Management. As information technology (IT) has expanded to encompass ever-widening
functions, Unissant has recognized the importance of a strong, well-supported management structure. Unissant utilizes proven best-practices frameworks along with IT controls and methodologies to support Program Management tasks.
Unissant has extensive experience with imaging solutions having supported the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to implement an Enterprise Content and Records Management solution. To this effect, we have developed an Electronic Content Management (ECM) methodology that is specifically designed to provide customer visibility, coordination, and buy-in during all phases of solution specification, design, and implementation. In addition to guiding the process by which content-based solutions are implemented, we utilize templates, best practices, and intellectual capital specific to content management applications throughout all phases of the project. As part of our methodology, we work with our clients to tailor the phases, steps, and work products to meet specific needs while continuing to work within a proven, best-practices framework. We also explicitly include a focus on change management and business readiness throughout the methodology. Unissant imaging solutions and capabilities include Business Process Management (BPM); Case Management; Collaboration and Document Management; Compliance; Content Security & Control; Digital Asset Management; Document/Image Capture; Image Analysis/3d Immersive Visualization; and Records Management Security (RMS).
Data Quality Management (DQM)
DQM involves continuous improvement for data quality throughout the enterprise and includes application data, collection, analysis, and warehousing. DQM is extremely important in a data warehouse initiative because it cleans up bad records from the data source(s). This ensures reliability and effectiveness of the data being populated in the data warehouse. Unissant has developed its own DQM framework, which has been successfully utilized at several large organizations.
Managing risks across the entire set of information components such as data, privacy, business applications, services, and infrastructure access is a critical part of IT infrastructure and services support and operations. Information assurance is best provided through enterprise security and risk management. Unissant’s operations and support teams have in-depth experience in areas of information security management, data privacy, and cyber-security, along with policies, standards, practices and controls. These combined aspects help Unissant deliver well-secured and managed IT infrastructure and services.
Web Technology Maintenance
Managing web components encompasses a range of activities tied to all the layers of web and SOA components. These range from web architecture, web software components, security, data access, and privacy, along with web applications software. Each of the software components requires upgrades, enhancements and fixes from time-to-time. Unissant has adopted best-practices, change management processes, procedures, and techniques to provide services that focus sharply on software maintenance.
Data Base Administration and Data Storage Management
A key element of operations and services management / administration is maintaining a close control on database administration and data storage management. Unissant maintains its forte in the field of overall data management. Administration and storage is a part of database management that encompasses defining, operating, access-controls, and housekeeping of databases, along with connectivity and accessibility of data by IT services.
Unissant’s core strength is in managing data. We are focused on managing data through our enterprise Information Management solutions. Our data management services provide a holistic approach to obtaining, authenticating, combining, and distributing vital data. It also enables organizations to reduce costs, mitigate risks, improve operational efficiency, and increase focus on key business goals. Unissant’s end-to-end Data Warehouse (DW) contains a staging area, warehouse, ETL process, data marts, and a business intelligence layer. Within these components there are Data Quality (DQ) processes, Master Data Management (MDM), Metadata, Data Dictionaries, and Business Reporting/Analytics.
Cloud Computing / Software as a Service (SaaS)
Unissant is at the forefront of Cloud Computing and SaaS technologies. On our Innovation Center platform, we have developed managed web services that are hosted on an external cloud. Analytix360 is a SaaS platform that uses data visualization to provide Business Intelligence and Reporting. In addition, we have developed a proof of concept (POC) cloud-based application for government agency funds requests, as well as a SharePoint property inspection scheduling application.
Web 2.0 Technologies
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) / Interoperability
In the biomedical arena, SOA / Interoperability adoption and demand, or user adoption, is increasing. The Department of Defense has made a substantial push for SOA / Interoperability, mainly dealing with Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Unissant has been working with Tricare on EMR interoperability. As part of the new AHLTA architecture being developed, Unissant has embraced SOA to make EMR for our war-fighter more accessible. The goal of our program is to enable any health care clinic in any U.S. Military establishment anywhere in the world to have readily available access to medical, prescription, vision, x-ray, dental, vision, etc. records immaterial of the individual systems being used. As part of a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) program, Unissant built system funtionality that communicates in real-time with various government databases to provide real-time processing of travelers, resulting in fewer bottlenecks at airports while at the same time improving data reliability.
